About Me

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing & Informatics at Bournemouth University, and head of the BU Cyber Security Research group.  My research explores how security can be designed into software systems. In particular, I want to understand how interaction design techniques and software tools can be used to build and maintain systems that are not only secure, but also usable within different contexts of use. As such, my research interests are at the intersection of Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

I was previously a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford, and a teaching fellow at UCL. I completed my DPhil in Computer Science at the University of Oxford in 2011, while a member of Wolfson College. Prior to my doctoral research, I was a software engineer within Logica’s Space business.
